That's right, no typo, you read it right, don't try to be extraordinary in network marketing.
You're still there? Please, before you start throwing tomatoes at me, let me explain what I mean. Awesome network marketing results are ok
Actually, it's more than ok to have great success with your network marketing business. That's what we all want. A good company, quality products, top notch support from our upline, active people in our downline, a very nice compensation plan, these are the essential ingredients that will help us stay in the business, to make it grow.
What's wrong, then, with being extraordinary in network marketing? The "secret" to a successful network marketing business
It's not a secret. It's plain old common sense. If you are trying to be:
A professional speaker. The person with all the answers. Someone who makes no mistakes.
Well, you might still have some success. It will take more time, though. Remember, the difference between network marketing and a regular job is the power of leverage. You already know that you won't make it by yourself in network marketing, so keep in mind this most important factor.
You are allowed to goof in a presentation. Be natural. Of course, don't be a comedian.I like to do videos to accompany my blog posts. Here's one I did to demonstrate my point even further.

Using videos for network marketing
As you can see in my video, I'm not even trying to look professional. Of course, I suggest you choose better settings, maybe with more lighting, a better looking shirt, and don't do it at 11pm like I did this one. You don't want to look like an idiot, you want to be taken seriously. The camera I mention costs around $50, if I remember correctly. Of course, you can use the integrated webcam on your laptop if you have one, but I suggest you get an external camera instead, because if you don't have to look perfect, I highly recommend you pay close attention to the microphone. The tiny one on your laptop is not the best choice. Network marketing is about ordinary people
You, me, the people you meet online or on the street, even the successful marketers you see, we all have one thing in common. We can relate to each other. We are not Hollywood stars. We do want their lifestyle, but without the paparazzis. Be duplicatable, be relatable, then your network marketing will grow naturally.

 | | I do try to expand my comfort zone, it's not easy for sure, Tammy :) |
| | | | | I completely agree...people want to feel comfortable...I know I do! =) |
| | | | | LOL Annemarie, very good point about the income statement, I look forward to regular ones that will indeed be perfect, thanks for bringing this up :) |
| | | | | Great blog, Philippe and I agree with what you have to say. It is about ordinary people relating to each other and duplicating simple plans. Only the income statment looks perfect! |
| | | | | Luis, thanks for your awesome support, I appreciate it, and thanks everyone for encouragement and tweets :) |
| | | | | I agree with you entirely simple is the best way most people understand. |
| | | | | Very nice blog Philippe, tweeted for you GO IBO |
| | | | | Well written Philippe. Go IBO! |
| | | | | I really like all your blogs and videos Philippe as you always give people great advice like this one, Thank you! |
| | | | | Wow, 5 comments within a few minutes, thanks guys, Mona, I'm glad my video made you smile, Skip, you are so right, we are trying to skip steps |
| | | | | Good advice. I have learned the same thing with advertising. I used to try to think of the most clever ads to type. Now I realize that being simple is best. Just tell ppl what you are doing & how you can help them. |
| | | | | Grerat comments - I have been "Type A" for most of my life and suffered. I am non trying to start with the letter "Z" and working backwards. Being natural is much better than trying to be perfect each and every time.
|
| | | | | | | | | Point well taken, Philippe! This is a relationship business - if people can't relate to you they will never do business with you. Thanks for sharing!
|
| | | | | Nice post, and your video made me smile :) |
| | | | | Glad you liked it, Rob :) |
| | | | | Great post Philippe, thanks for sharing! |
| | | | | LOL Joseph, I love your point about the horse, thanks for taking the time to comment :) |
| | | | | You are a very good write comes from the heart have watched and learned from you, that l do appreciate. Very creative thinking and information you have just shared with us! Regardless of how good we are YOU can lead a horse to water but will it drink it!!! |
| | | | | You got the essence of it, Marian, thanks for your very nice feedback :) |
| | | | | If I'm understanding your message correctly, you have 2 main points. First, perfectionism takes more time than it is worth. Second, if you do reach anything close to perfection, you will scare away those people who might be interested in your opportunity but are real people. Thank you for sharing. |
