For more success be responsible.

Something that many people lack today is being responsible. Too many people want to blame almost anything or anyone for where they are in life and why they have not achieved their goals. Blame won't get you anywhere. It will just keep you in the rut that you are in. Here are some important ideas when it comes to responsibility that will help you immeasurably on your journey to success in achieving whatever goals you are working on.

1. You are responsible for the person that you are and the person that you are becoming.
No one owes you anything. If you have dreams and goals it is up to you to find a way to make them come true. It is not so much what you want but what you are willing to do to achieve your goal and if you are willing to keep doing what it takes for as long as it takes. No one else can save you. It is your life and you are the architect.  Write down your goals and then small action steps to guide you down the proper path. Inch by inch anything is possible.

2. You are responsible for your actions and choices.
No one makes you do anything. You have free will as to how you think and what you do each day. With each thought and each action you are going down a certain path. If you don't like the path that you are on then at any given time you can change it simply by changing how you think and what you do. Always keep your eye on your goal and ask yourself if your thinking and actions are leading you to accomplish your goal. If not then it's time to change something. You have to be your own, and very best coach and cheerleader. By taking responsiblity for what we do we don't fall into the trap of making excuses. With responsibility comes peace of mind.

3. You are responsible for your attitude.
We can't control others or many of the things outside of us but we can always control how we react to what happens. Power comes from being in control of our attitude at all times. When other people can push your buttons you know that you don't have control over your attitude. The times we regret are when we don't have control over our attitude and we do or say something that haunts us for the rest of our life. Choose to be kind rather than choosing to be right. You aren't going to change someone else. Listen to what they have to say and remark, "That's interesting." Oftentimes the more we nag someone about what they do or say the more entrenched they become to keep on doing that same thing. Changing our own attitude can oftentimes create the change in others that we desire. Actions really are much louder than words. People see what you do and that has an effect on them. It may not happen right away but over time you might be surprised at what happens.

4. You are responsible for your own happiness.
How many people get into relationships of all differnt kinds simply looking for someone else to fulfill them or make them happy. It never works and always ends in failure. No one else can make you whole and happiness comes from within. No one else is responsible for your happiness except for you.  You must do the things that will result in building your sense of self-worth. Your self-esteem and happiness are directly related to what you value and have chosen to accept.

5. You are responsible for your good health.
No doctor, insurance company, or govenment can give you good health. Good health comes from what you do or don't do every day. There are only three main causes to all health challenges. The first is lack of proper nutrition which also includes getting enough water, enough sun, enough sleep, exercise, right diet, etc. The second is toxins. You want to help your body to detoxify every day. We are surrounded by toxins. Choose to go chemical free. The final cause is what more and more doctors believe is the cause to most all challenges and that is stored negative emotions. There are natural ways to release these so that they don't cause you harm.

Being responsible for yourself in all areas will empower you beyond your wildest expectations. When you look in the mirror there will be a sense of pride and assurance. Fear and doubt will no longer hang over you like a black cloud. By taking the steps each and every day to be responsible in all areas of your life, you will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are capable of accomplishing anything. One of the main things that separates winners from losers is being responsible.

Peace, Health and Prosperity,
Barb Doyle, Sc.
