I must say there is a great deal of beauty about working from home. You must keep in mind though that you will be meshing two separate lives together. Whatever is going on at home will be hard to remove from your business life. These two distinct worlds will become one. It will take determination to find the right place in your home to perform your work at home duties. You must try to be free from distractions if possible and be able to concentrate. At times I don't have this occurring and I need to keep focused and continue dispite the tough obstacles. Since at this juncture I am still working a full time job I have to utilize the time available to complete my tasks. My ulitmate goal is take charge of my life. When you work outside the home for most of us the time and location we perform our work is dictated to us, so it controls our life. We have to allot for the time it takes us to reach work and spend our day working for someone elses dream. So for now I have to balance my home, job, and business. It's a juggling act that is worth the time it takes to perfect it. | | Thanks for sharing your thoughts Patricia, I'm fortunate in that I do not have to leave the home for outside work, however there are also dangers that come from having complete control of your life, you are also your own boss. TB&L my friend |
| | | | | very nice blog, all what you said there is so true, finding the time is really a struggle indeed, but it does work out in the end once we learn to manage it |
| | | | | Nice blog and your right we do need to have when we at home and thanks for the comment on my blog |
| | | | | Hey even the Dogs don't understand that I'm trying to work here! Still beats driving to the office. Thanks Patricia. |
| | | | | I agree Patricia. You really need a working space that you can "shut off" from at the end of your working day (preferably a room that is separate from where you relax) - other wise the work that you still need to do just "nags" at you all the time.
A problem I get is family phoning me up because I am "available" - even if this is during working hours..... |
| | | | | I hear you, I just had my boyfriend say this morning, I see you're doing nothing on the computer again! ugh! |
| | | | | It is a juggling act that I have been doing for 6 years now and it's still a struggle to get "people" (my husband, adult kids) to get that I actually "work" from home! Yup...can be challenging, but worth it! :-) |
