I move my body

  Leading an active life keeps me fit and strong. I love to move my body.

  I add more steps into my daily routines, and climb the stairs rather than riding the elevator or escalator. I pick a parking spot further away from my destination, so I can walk the last few yards.

  I move my feet while I am talking on the phone, or waiting for my coffee to brew.

  When I am watching TV, I stand up to change the channels, instead of using the remote control. During commercial breaks, I get down on the floor and do some push-ups.

  I do more chores manually. I rake the leaves instead of using a leaf blower. I take a break from my food processor, and use a mortar and pestle to grind cooking ingredients.

  I work out on a regular basis. I build my muscles and strengthen my heart. I train for balance and flexibility. I find a variety of activities that I enjoy. I alternate between dancing classes and playing tennis.

  If rainy or cold weather prevents me from taking my morning run, I use my treadmill, or work out with an exercise video.

  Today, I honor my body by giving it the exercise that it needs to stay healthy and powerful. Movement is the key to my well being.

2. How can I motivate myself to stay active?

3. How does having a workout buddy make exercise more fun?
