Reciprocity in Internet Marketing

A basic rule of engagement in Internet Marketing is reciprocity. Whatever your specialties are in your Internet marketing, you have to remember this basic golden rule - "I will scratch your back and you will scratch mine." Once you impress upon other players in the marketing sphere the need to reciprocate your every action, you are well on your way to making substantial earnings from your online business. This law of reciprocity is actually the power behind successful online marketing campaigns. This is what pushes your clients to visit your site and make those clicks that translate into dollars going into your pocket even while you are asleep. There is nothing earthshaking about this rule as it is purely based on human nature. In fact, this is what drives business networking. You have to remember, that when it comes to online business, you can never achieve anything substantial or break the $1000-mark income barrier without the support of others. If you give another person a business lead, then that person will be obliged to find someone whom he can refer to you. This is plain human nature, and the act to reciprocate in a manner that helps you substantially is the primary reason why you have to expand your network. At face value, we seem to act positively when receiving favors from others in order to get even. But, is it really the drive to get even that pushes you to reciprocate? Internet marketing experts believe that your goal in networking is always to maintain inequality. To be a successful Internet marketer, you always have to be uneven. In reality, you adopt the law of reciprocity in order to "magnify" the inequity by making it sure that there is always a balance in your favor every time you receive something from the person you have given some favor. When you expand your network, you are in effect building your bank account as you collect more IOUs. In Internet marketing, you are actually receiving more than what you are giving, and this is what drives you until you become member of the elite circle of marquee Internet marketers. You grow your networking account by the number of favors that you receive from others. In every favor you give to others you achieve differential advantage in the form of "repayment" which is of higher value than what you have actually given to them, and this is what makes you an accomplished Internet marketer.
