SEATTLE, WA - February 18, 2016 Seattle based jazz, funk and soul band, Happy Orchestra, takes time away from recording their crowd-funded debut album to play shows in Seattle, Olympia and Portland.

Outstanding musicians, strong compositions plus a dramatic performance by Oscar winner Al Pacino proved to be a winning combination for Happy Orchestra who, thanks to 83 backers, raised more than their $7,500 funding goal in December 2015.

With over a decade of performing and recording history, including his 3+ year tenure with the popular Seattle organ trio, McTuff, drummer and founder Tarik Abouzied is no stranger to creating exciting and satisfying music for jazz and funk audiences alike.

Abouzied’s experience also informs both enthusiasm and wisdom in the recording process: “Over the next year I'm bringing these people together to make a record that paints a picture of the incredible musical landscape we live in. The record will feature the stellar musicians who have played with Happy so far including Skerik, Thomas Marriott, Andy Coe, Tim Kennedy, and Ian Sheridan, and a few who have yet to join the fold like Damian Erskine and Brian Haas. There will be more. We will drink your milkshake.”
