Where the US is headed.

As Americans, and as a country, people live in the US have a lot of questions to answer for. Because in the midst of an economic depression, stagnant growth, piling national debt, it seems that everything is business as usual here for companies, and for people. There is no outrage and no outcry from the main street public about events unfolding before their eyes. One would think that American would bring their politician to submission by one determined outcry. But that is not the case. Nevertheless, the question we need to ask ourselves is this, "Where are we heading?" and "How long will it take for us to get there?". It is very easy for an objective observer to see that the US is heading towards an unsustainable path. And in fairness, there are many Americans (such as the Teapartiers) who clearly see and understand the danger that the US faces. Unfortunately, their voices are dwarfed by a much larger majority, whose attitude towards the US is complacent and outdated. The feeling of invincibility that the US had for the latter part of the 1980's and the mid 1990's is no longer a reality. In fact, most Americans can't remember when they last felt an unending burst of optimism. There are many people that are stuggling and suffering because of the choices and actions of our national leaders and a large part of our population. Unfortunately our political system does not work, our politicians are sleezy, corrupted, immoral, and at best unreliable. As for the President, well, what can I say, or should I say WHAT CAN HE DO. Now, without getting into a long political discussion, the reality is that the US is like a giant ship in the middle of the large sea, destined to collide upon a huge unmoving object. I don't know when, but it will happen. NO NEED TO PANIC, but if one is wise, one would start to make preparations and be sure to safeguard those preparations so as to have them ready upon impact.
