TechLogon which is one of my favorite sites just recently informed it's members that Microsoft will be ending security updates and support for Windows XP. They will also be ending support for Office 2003.
This means that after April 8, 2014 when the support is scheduled to end your computer could be at great risk when browsing the internet.
As an XP user myself, I was extremely disappointed when I received the email of notification and immediately ran to their site to leave my comment. This comment turned out to be several as the author responded to begin helping me with my dilemma.
If you're like me, your probably outraged by the news and wondering what you'll do when that deadline comes up. Well thanks to TechLogon and Roy who is the author of this great article, I know exactly how to proceed.
If you're interested in getting some answers and possible solutions on what to do yourself, just go read the article through this link and read the comments to view some solutions they suggested to me. I believe it will help you as well if you are affected by this news.
As taken from the article above, The latest figures from NetMarketShare for March 2013 reveal that over 38% of PCs still use Windows XP, compared to about 45% for Windows 7, 5% for Vista and just 3% for Windows 8.
If you are one of the 38% mentioned above, you may want to leave your comments as well. You never know if Microsoft could be watching and who knows? Together we might end up changing their intentions to end their support for us!
