Free Giveaways ALWAYS Work!
The word 'free' is one of the most powerful words in the english language as far as evoking emotion and action in people. But it's both good and bad, so you have to use it wisely to get your desired results.
What would you personally do if one of your friends walked up to you and said:
"Hey, I have a bunch of free stuff to give away, do you want any of it?"
It's almost a guarantee that you are at least going to take a look right? But just because something is free doesn't mean that you are going to get in line to collect it.
Only if there's somnething there of perceived value would you grab anything. If it was all junk, you'd just walk away.
There is an important lesson to acknowledge in this:
The word 'FREE' will always get people to at least take a look, but people will only take action if the free offer contains something of "REAL VALUE" to the taker.
When it comes to marketing on the Internet, a good quality free give away will alway attract many people into your marketing/sales funnel and from there you can do whatever you like. It's much easier than trying to sell right off the bat, because people are more likely to take you up on your free offer, than your sales pitch.
You can get as creative as you want about your free give away & benefit as well. Here's a couple examples:

 | | Great blog. Right on target in all that you say. Thanks! |
| | | | | Great blog. 100% spot on. The free giveaway needs to have value for it to work. |
| | | | | Ralf great blog, you said it all. Thanks for sharing. |
| | | | | This is SO true! Say FREE and I'm THERE! :) Great Insight and understanding! Thanks for Posting This! :) |
| | | | | Nice blog and share. thanks for all the comments |
| | | | | When I came to the business of Marketing as a NewBie, I was corralled by the word "Free" and when I came face to face with the agreement and clicked to leave my Email, then I found in many cases it was a kind of Up-sell. I do not like the wool to be pulled over my face, but the way you explained "Free" I can see why the language is spoken. Thanks for giving me more than I expected. Thanks ralf dooley. |
| | | | | Very well explained the power of FREE nice post |
| | | | | Yes free has the effectinto getting to at least look at what your giving away and you are correct when you say some will refuse your offer if they think it is junk. One person's treasure could be another person's trash. It appears that you give out treasures. Keep up the good work |
| | | | | Great write up Ralf - you hit it right on the head - perceived value is indeed the bottom line. So becoming a tantalizing wordsmith becomes part of the game. Continued success to you. |
| | | | | Agreed - free is a powerful draw but only if the perceived value is high. Still it's often hard to know what value others will place on your offer. Better to get an offer out there than not - but always work to improve it. |
| | | | | Great insight! Thanks for sharing! |
| | | | | Giving a quality free product in exchange for an email address is a good way to build your list, but as you say, it must be something of value. If it is good enough it could go viral. |
| | | | | Great blog post. Good strategy |
| | | | | Great information Ralf. I usually click on something that perceive to be of value and sometimes it is and other times it isn't. I'll trade my email address any time for something of value. Thanks for sharing my friend. |
| | | | | I think FREE is the keyword here on IBO. Wonderful tools to help everyone promote their businesses. Your blog is right on! |
