In a home business opportunity many people are adding on a business on a part time basis, and it can be a challenge to them to get into the groove of the actions necessary for business success. Teaching these actions are important, but it is the individual that has to maintain the motivation to follow through with them.
So...how is this accomplished. When you first interviewed this team member for the position on your team, did you get to know what their passions are....what is it they are trying to accomplish by doing this business. What will the money allow them to do.....
You have to know this about them so you can remind them of this when things get difficult and they are not following through with marketing their business. You do need to make sure they are clear about the action steps and what has to happen for success, but this assumes that that is clear. If people are not following through, they may have lost track of their initial goals..maybe forgot to even write them down..so you can be of great help to interview them again, and find out where they are in their lives at that time, remind them of the initial need and find out if this still is a driving force for them. You are acting in their best interest when you do this.
Discussing their current situation with them and setting new realistic goals may be the best approach. Show them you care about them and their needs, and will be there to partner with them tohelp them achieve their goals. Most of all be a good friend and be honest about what is happening for them in their business, and what can be realistically expected.
I think we often forget to know our team members in this way, and it is a grave mistake. I wish everyone the utmost success in their business..may we make this a truly people business.
