The Country Bumpkin Network Marketer

Me, a country bumpkin, not at all, though I do live in the country. Just wanted to get your attention. Did it work? Good! I actually spent most of my life in New York, so I am a city slicker more than anything. This is not about where I live but about why I chose to become a network marketer, though where I live now has a lot to do with my decision. You see, where I live now the main industries are chicken and fishing. There are other businesses here also, but like anywhere else they want experience. With chicken and fishing they will take you as is and train you. The work is not that difficult to do. I don't really care for seafood or fishing for the matter, so the chicken industry was my only choice. Like most employers today, the company I presently work for treats their employees more like robots and machines than actual people. The bosses want you to respect them and at the same time they don't give any respect to you. I don't know about you but I believe respect is earned not given. As you might suspect the pay for this job is not very good. While they claim that their pay is competitive, the pay is barely enough to get by on and just enough to keep you there since everyone pays about the same. I couldn't survive under these conditions so instead of dreaming about a better lifestyle I set out to make it a reality. After reading such books as Think And Grow Rich and Rich Dad Poor Dad, I realized the only way to improve my current situation was to have my own business. Since I didn't have the money to buy a franchise or had enough skills to specialize in a specific area you might think I was facing hopeless odds. I can hear you saying right now, buy lottery tickets and hope to win a few million. Wrong choice. If I spent my time buying lottery tickets and hoping to win big, I'd still be where I'm at when I'm in my sixties or seventies - working for a measly wage. Not what I wanted to do. It was around this time that the idea of having an internet business started to appeal to me. Low start up costs, no overhead, low monthly costs to run the business, and the opportunity to reach a world wide customer base. I wouldn't be tied down to any geographical location. No, the world would be my location. Sounds good but I soon realized that having a few websites up was not going to improve my situation that much. I would need a few hundred websites to make it all work. and that would start to add up. Time to give up my dream, right? Again, wrong choice! I knew there had to be another, better way to make a living on the internet. It was then that I heard about a concept that totally intrigued me, passive residual income - making money over and over again for the work I did once. I started to do some research and I found two ways to make this happen. I could either have a membership site or get into network marketing. Since I didn't have a clue on how to build a membership site the choice became simple - network marketing. I wouldn't need experience to start, again low start up costs, I'd get my own site to drive traffic to so I didn't have to have my own websites, and the potential of a true passive residual income. I researched some more and came up with my own idea of what makes a good company to associate myself with. They had to be reputable (after all I did hear about the scams and pyramid schemes), offer training, have pre-made marketing materials, and have a good compensation plan. I then took this further by following the leaders in the industry. People like Daegan Smith, Ann Sieg, Mike Dillard, and April Marie Tucker and MyLeadsystemPro. I knew that if I did what they were doing, I'd make it. I studied hard and began to implement what I had learned and little by little I started seeing results. Like any business it's not going to happen overnight but take time to build. However, this time could be shortened by following a successful plan or system already set up by other successful network marketers. For me network marketing was and is the answer to what I was looking for in a business. With the right team, support, training, and upline it can be the right answer for anyone. I hope that you will consider this industry as a viable way of making money. It has made many people successful and wealthy. "Network marketing has produced more millionaires than any other industry in the history of the world!" ~ Les Brown It can do the same for you.
