You have decided and you are ready, right?
You have decided to become an independent business person and to develop an online home based business. This business is going to build you a secondary income that you hope may one day replace your need for a job.
That is fantastic, and an admirable goal. This world needs more entrepreneurs that will develop their own secondary income and to assist others in developing a secondary income also.
Now that you have made that decision, if you haven't already, you are going to begin to research the online opportunities available to you to build this second income, and you are going to be amazed and excited by the plethora of opportunities and the potential to make a lot of money.
And there are a lot of opportunities, and their is a lot of potential to make a lot of money!
Now you are going to read about these opportunities and how each is the greatest thing since sliced bread, how you will automate your income, how you will make money with out doing anything or by just putting up a website, and on and on and on...
Now how many of you believe that this will be easier to grow and build than a brick and mortar business?
If you are at all familiar with building a business of any kind, know any one that has or have been reading the news, you will know that most businesses fail within the first two years.
Now, if you believe all the hype that you read about how easy it is to build an online business I would like you to take a look at this bridge I have for sale and for the right price I'll even get it painted for you, of course you will have to sign the contract for any cost overruns!

Do you still want to do this second income business thing now?
Of course you do! You are different, you will not make the same mistakes, right?
Don't quit your day job, don't even cut down the hours!
You will be working every spare minute on your second income business and unless you have the proverbial horseshoe hanging around your neck you will not be sleeping much.
Now you may be reading this hoping that I will give you some guidance and not just trying to discourage you from starting your second income business. And, though I would like to assist you and guide you, I'll say right now that I have my doubts that you will even listen to me. I say this as I have learned that you readers are just plain stubborn (and there are some explatives I could add to that)!
So, before you jump in to that great potion that will change eveyone's life and that you "know" you can sell better than anyone else, or that system that you will be able to "help" more people because you are the true people helper, let's get you started with a couple of the real basics to building an online home based second income business.
1. Research the company that you will be working with and the owners/founders.
2. Get to know the product/service, and to take it a step further, use the product and/or service to verify that all the claims are true.
3. Talk to others in the program, one's that have been with the program for at least six months.
4. Join some groups on Facebook and Skype that the members hang out in, see what others are saying, find the leaders.
5. Learn about the support/serice/return policies, etc. that the company stands behind, and to what extent.
And, these are just the very basic things you should do in doing your due diligence.
I would love to go on, and I could, for pages, but I'm going to stop here and let you take the next step.
Here is one that I recommend for you to get started with - Join the 'Best Tools Training Support Open' group on Facebook, you will not get peppered with a bunch of ads, promotions, etc. as this is a spam free group. This group is solely dedicated to sharing knowledge that all can use to assist them in researching their options.
The second thing I will recommend is to sign up for the Leadership Insights newsletter, a newsletter that will assist you in your ongoing study and research of the online marketplace, it is comprised of articles, videos, etc. from the leaders in the online marketing industry. Sign up for your free subscription at ibourl.com/gek - you will get access to an online program by subscribing, which you may opt out of instantly if you so desire, but it is a free program with great educational tools that I recommend to all new and experienced online marketers.
