MENTORS IN MY LIFE

Think of someone that made an positive impact in your work life. What was the trait really stood out to you? What about that person made them the one that came to your mind? Do they know the impact that they made in your job, career or work?
I have had several nursing jobs where mentors made strong mpact in the way I practiced nursing. In nursing when a new employee starts a job, they are assigned a "preceptor" to teach them the ropes of the job, the policies, the ins and outs as it were. Preceptors as not all mentors. Many, in fact, are not mentors at all. Mentors care about the people they are shepherding. Mentors have a higher calling for their purpose in life. Shaping a person into a nurse requires more than intellect and problem solving abilities. Nursing requires a holistic approach in caring for the entire being, including all that is meaninful and those that impact their health.
I am grateful for those that mentored me to become who I am today and have a desire to continue to grow, build and pass along the strength and support to those in my life that would like to be on my business team.
