Recently George Pierce wrote a wonderful PR titled, “Ever Have One Of Those Days? Procrastination (read this later). Like all of his PR’s it’s fun to read and you can find it here:

It reminded me of a PR that I wrote some time ago and I wanted to share it again.

There is no doubt that this is a rather startling title and it definitely gets your attention.

The title comes from a Mark Twain quote:  "Eat a live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day."

Brian Tracy in his book,  “Eat That Frog!  21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time”  talks about eating that ugly, live frog first thing in the morning.

We all procrastinate about the big jobs, the difficult ones we know are going to take time and effort to accomplish….the ones we dread even starting.

When we make a list of our tasks to be done on the following day, it is so much easier to keep moving that big, ugly, difficult one to the bottom of the list.

It’s so easy to develop an attitude of, “If I get to it fine – if not …oh, well!”

The problem is that the task keeps looming on the horizon and haunting us all day…and the worst of it is that we have it hovering in the background and we really can’t be as productive as we want to be.

Often it becomes such a horrendous job in our mind that we put it off again and then it just doesn’t get done today or even tomorrow.

But you and I know that the problem job – that big ugly frog - just gets uglier until we have no choice but to get it done before it gets totally out of control.

Brian tells us that if we stop procrastinating and go ahead and do the most important task first thing in the morning (eating that frog), the rest of the day is going to be easy in comparison.

Once you get that most important task (Your frog) out of the way,

it gives you such a great feeling to put that check mark next to the big ugly frog and mark it done.  Horray!

You will find that your day goes smoother and that you are far more productive without worrying anymore about eating that ugly frog.

This is a great word picture about procrastination and I hope it helps someone to face their “ugly frog” and tackle it first thing in he morning before they start their day so they can get on with reaching their goals and becoming a success.

If you enjoyed reading this, please like and share.

Great Success and Abundant Blessings!
