I, like so many others, have always been fascinated by gadgets and boys toys. The ladies will say it is because we never grow up and I would have to agree with that. Whether it be the latest car or the latest cellphone or a simple toy men will always be attracted to them.
I remember on my son's first birthday I bought him a train set. I played with it for hours under the guise of entertaining him. For his second birthday I bought him a Scalextric set and had many happy hours being a formula one driver.
I am sure that many explanations have been offered as to why guys are so fascinated by gadgets but I have never found an explanation that fits my profile.I am supposed to be much older and wiser now but I still cannot resist the lure of the latest gadgets and showing them off to friends and associates.
My wife rolls her eyes each time a new toy arrives in the mail but I tell her that providing it keeps me happy and entertained then there is no problem. I am not totally obsessed with gadgets but I know some people who are including one who has turned his spare bedroom into a flight deck and spends all his time flying all around the world.
My fascination is not limited to one gadget as I like them all and providing I am not spending more than I can afford then I will happily continue buying them.
