As we were thinking about how MUCH fun we will have we were
listening to a news report telling us 73% of people graduating high
school today do not believe they can get a good job without
additional schooling.
But, worse, employers are telling us too many college students
have loaded up on "junk" courses to get a high GPA so
they are not prepared for the work force.
Combine these two facts with the declining economy, horrible
political leadership (not sure leadership is word we should use)
and you come to this conclusion:
THE WINNERS IN THE FUTURE WILL BE ENTREPRENEURS!
Employers in the future have a worldwide talent pool to draw from.
People in the work force today could not be prepared for the
massive technological changes in the past few years.
Almost all of the job growth in America has been in the service
sector, meaning low wage retail, hotel and other jobs with little
hope of advancement.
The good jobs are the very skilled, highly educated engineers and
others with very specific niche demands.
If you went to college and majored in social studies or some other
more generic major your future is uncertain at best.
BUT THERE WILL ALWAYS BE ROOM FOR THOSE OF US WHO CARVE OUT A
NICHE.
As I mentioned in other messages, I was laid off and fired long
before it became fashionable. I ran out employment opportunities
in 1987, when I held my last real job.
Making it as an entrepreneur has been a struggle, but I am happy
where I am now.
We have a large workforce in America over 50. You can be replaced
by someone younger at a lower salary so you are not going to be
hired.
BUT, IF YOU ARE AN ENTREPRENEUR YOU WON'T WORRY ABOUT A JOB.
We want every Team friend to have the freedom to travel
when and where you want, to be debt free, and to enjoy life.
So commit yourself to making it on your own. We will be working
hard at this end to help you.
