The best index to a person's character is (a) how he treats people who can't do him any good, and (b) how he treats people who can't fight back.
What's it all about? We are not a big organization, but just a bunch of decent people who wanted to find a way to make the world a nicer place. We figured that if we got people to do lots of little things often, it would be easier than asking people to make grand gestures that take time to plan and implement.
We know that it sounds simplistic and we know that there are so many horrible things going on in the world right now and we also know that we do not hold the key to world peace, but we're at least going to try and see if we can make a difference. You need to start somewhere......
We hope that we can encourage people to make the One Small Deed philosophy part of their everyday lives, post their deeds onto the website and help make the world a whole lot happier.

Open the door for someone
Give up your seat on the train or bus for someone who needs it more than you
If a colleague asks for your help at work and you are really busy, find a way
If you see someone in need, like a woman trying to get her pram up the stairs or a man in a wheelchair struggling to get across the street, help them
If you see someone crying, don't ignore them, ask if you can help
Don't throw your old games console out when you get a new one, take it to your local Youth Center
