Bill's Story About Amway, the formula can make you rich

If you have been in network marketing for any time at all you should know of Bill Britt. Bill is a successful distributor in Amway. I worked Amway for a year in the early 90’s and recently while cleaning/reorganized came across Bill Britt’s prospecting numbers. I remember at the time thinking no one will ever do this again. Over his first ten years in Amway Bill Britt had the following results:
Bill personally prospected 18,500+ people [I figure a goal ~40 a week w/1 week off a quarter] I suspect his plan was to identify and offer 10 new people looking for additional income 4 days every week. There was no internet 30 years ago. Bill was also in a position to meet many people every day and he is not shy either.

3,268 people saw the business “plan” or attended an opportunity meeting [~18%] 27/month is a consistent level of presentations most of will only dream about. One in every five people he offered they look at something did look. This might be a standard to monitor you against.

621 people got started on product or business [19% who saw the plan] 5/month joined Bill’s business. Before you denigrate the name remember this is every month for 10 years. What have you done besides brushing your don’t brush your teeth 5 times a month?

304 people did something with the business while the others quit [51% quit] Over half quit and if you have brought in at least 10 you have already met the one who goes into witness protection the very next day. You can stop looking. They never reappear?!

61 people built a business of $500 a month or more [almost 10% worked it] Hey, $500 used to be real money!

11 people made him rich
3 people made him millions

What did I get from Bill Britt’s success?

He prospected a lot of people.
