Winter Hair Care

Published on 2/8/2013
For additional information  Click Here

Even though winter is almost over, winter hair care is still important. Cold and wind can rob the hair of moisture. Harsh weather and wearing sweaters or turtlenecks can cause split ends because the hair is dry. Here a few tips to retain moisture: -Deep condition – This helps hair retain moisture. Weekly deep conditioning for at least 30 minutes is especially important for wavy, curly, or textured hair. -Hair steaming – Steam open up the cuticle of the hair and allow deeper penetration, which this will leave the hair soft and prevent breakage. -Protein treatments – These treatments help moisture retention. Protein fills in the gaps in the hair caused by chemical processing. -Little or no heat – Minimizing the heat exposure to prevent irreversible hair damage -Drinking water – Hydration is key… Drink a minimum of eight (8) glasses of water daily. Water is important for the body and hair. -Hands off – Limit the amount of time you play with your hair. Protective styling promotes and maintains the overall health of hair.
