Quick thinking to make a sale
As you go about your daily routine you sometimes over hear or witness funny things that stay in your mind for a long time,
In my case I was with my friend Tony and he said something to one of his customers that made me think (My goodness Tony that was quick thinking but you still made the sale)
Let me explain???
Tony is the owner of a second hand yard, Selling reclaimed Timber, Stone work Masonry, Doors, Windows, and just about anything that can be reclaimed before a building is demolished.
I happened to be with Tony one day having a coffee and just passing a bit of time talking about what we had been up to since our last meeting, There were plenty of people milling around the yard looking at different items Tony had for sale.
There was one couple (Man and wife I presume) Looking at 2 hardwood widow frames with stained glass in the top section, Both windows were exactly the same, Identical in every way, Must have come out of the same property but there was one thing different??
The price !!!
One was priced at 30Gpb and the other one priced at 75Gbp.
The man from the couple asked Tony why was there a price difference in the two windows when they are both the same, Tony thought for a split second realizing that they had been priced wrong,
He then said the cheaper one Had been looked through more than the other one.
( Well you could have knocked me down with a feather; I had to look the other way)
The man went to explain to his wife and after a brief period of time they agreed to buy the more expensive window.
Tony knocked 5Gbp of the price and the couple left pleased with there purchase of a window that hadn’t been looked through as often as the other one.
Tony later explained to me that both windows should have been priced at 75Gbp so no harm done.
