For many years I wanted to work from home; and not just "work" but actually have my own business! So I have done just about every thing to try and make that dream come true! I have sold Tupperware - twice! I have sold Avon - twice! I did Pre-Paid Legal. All great products! The problem was, that I am not a sales person by any means. If you want it, buy it. If you don't...well okay.
So then I found this company where the "product" was something everyone already uses: electricity & natural gas! Since they already use it, the company offers more of a service than a product - because my company offers savings (and a few other perks).
So savings is offered for something that everyone you know already uses. You help them switch at no cost to them. They save money and get a few other perks as well. And with my company, they can even earn free energy! How many people do you think I have to convince to become my customer?
You know what, I'm a big fan of many of the direct sales products out there. The problem right now is that with the economy, people often don't have the extra cash to spend on what they don't need. But everyone is paying their electric bill, right?
If you are having a difficult time selling product - stick with it if you love it and are passionate about the product! But you may also want to consider something that EVERYONE uses every moment of every day (did you unplug your refrigerator when you left the house last time?). Unconsciously purchased, habitually used.
