I received an email today from a business partners which was the bill of an Ambit Energy customer from New Jersey. The customer has PSE&G for their main company (and this is still the company that delivers the electricity and fixes the lines when needed). The bill was incredible because the charges through Ambit Energy for the electric supply were 691.68 (this was a small business).
On the second page of the bill PSE&G calculate the delivery charges and then there's a paragraph that says "You are currently purchasing your electric supply from another supplier. If you had been purchasing your electric supply from PSE&G you would have been billed $1,346.49 for this supply..."

I guess I was especially floored that PSE&G would come flat out and say "you saved a bundle with the other guy". When I call my local company to see how much they would have charged me per kWh they avoid telling me. And then OF COURSE the savings was incredible!
Now this is NOT typical Ambit Energy savings. The PSE&G market generally saves up to 17% when they switch to Ambit. So almost 50% savings was quite remarkable!
Look - either way you cut it, it's savings. If I save $1 a month or $30 a month or $50 a month...I save money and don't we all need to do that today? Of course better than that, I have taken advantage of Ambit Energy's Free Energy program and actually receive checks back from Ambit each month toward my supply charges. For me personally, that means about $450 a year that I get BACK from my electric company - Ambit Energy.
