For the past week, I have been doing a lot of thinking about mindset and how important it is to focus on positive thinking. As we know, many authors, speakers, and teachers have spoken about this and will continue to do so forever. Why so much attention to mindset? Because it is the starting point for everything we do!
Think about it this way - Every action we take starts with a thought. Tony Robbins talks about how our thoughts become reality and what we focus on we produce. Think about your life - how many times have you went into a situation expecting something negative and surprise - something negative happens! On the flip side, think about times when your positive attitude has made a situation better. We have the ability to influence those around us in many different ways and they also can influence us. I believe it is critical to focus on positive things throughout the day and refocus if we get off track.
Here are my 3 tips to help focus on positve things throughout the day:
1. Start your day by taking a few minutes to read, watch, or listen to something positive or motivational. If you are like me, you have many sources to do that like youtube, facebook, Cd's, or IBO! Whether you work at home or drive to your job, use a few minutes to start the day on the right note!
2. Take time at lunch to refocus on positive thinking by listening to a CD, mp3, or DVD while you eat. The key here is to use time you already have and get the most out of it.
3. Wrap up the day by writing a short journal about the positive things in your day - even when you may not feel very positive. The subconscious mind is always at work and it is important to make sure you always "feed" it positive things because that is what you will produce.
