It's About Relatonships

Popping up on a chat and pitching your business is not the way to build your business. If you really think about it , it really is quite stupid. Whether online or off you must build relationships. I have intentionally began to ask my contacts for a five minute conversation via phone or Skype to get to know them. Why? To build relationships. Nobody, I mean nobody likes to be pitched. Especially if they already have a business. But... everyone needs friends, collegues, even associates that are like-minded. I chose 5 minutes because I don't have a lot of social time but 5 minutes won't kill anyone. What trips me out is when a person immediately starts to pitch me when all I really wanted was to connect. If our industry is to get the respect that it deserves we really have to do better. The pitch fests have to stop. We have to be reminded that people work with people that they know, like, and trust. Take the time to develop relationships. Give them a chance to get to know you. Then you can build a business that lasts and one that you enjoy. No I won't join your business even if it's free. No I don't want to sign up for your newsletter. No, No, No. Not at first... I just want to get to know YOU. How are you? How is business? Any new tips you would like to share? New books you recommend, etc. That is the way you build relationships and that is how you attract people into your life. Whether you end up doing business together or not, you would have made a true business friend, associate, or a contact you can comfortably recommend. For business coaching, tools, or just to connect feel free to contact me. Chow!
