Hello,
There are some essential oils that you definitely don't want to be without. If you start to use our oils you will see why I say that.
Peppermint essential oil is definitely one of these. Peppermint is anti-inflammatory, antitumoral, antiparasitic (especially worms), antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, gallbladder/digestive stimulant, pain relieving and it helps to curb appetite. On this last benefit a gentleman was able to release 100 pounds of excess weight in a years time and he simply put a drop of peppermint in the water that he drank throughout the day. He drank approximately a gallon of water a day.
Peppermint has been used for rheumatism/arthritis, respiratory infections like pneumonia and tuberculosis, viral infections like herpes and human papilloma virus, fungal infections like candida, digestive problems, headaches, nausea, itchy skin and back problems. It has also been able to help with heartburn by rubbing it along the esophagus and stomach as well as constipation when rubbed over the intestines. In fact I had a woman who was having quite a bit of abdominal pain and was also constipated. She rubbed a couple of drops of peppermint over her abdominal area and within a half hour released quite a bit in the toilet not just once but twice.
With research that has been done on peppermint Dr. William Dember of the University of Cincinnati found that inhaling peppermint oil increased mental accuracy by 28 percent. How many kids couldn't benefit from this when it comes to learning in school and taking tests. Also if you have to drive and you are tired be sure to inhale peppermint as you drive and it will help to keep you alert.
Dr. Alan Hirsch, MD researched peppermint's stimulation of the brain's satiety center to curb appetite. Also when inhaled it improves and can help restore the sense of taste as well as the sense of smell. There have been people who have lost their sense of smell but over time by rubbing peppermint around the nose they have been able to regain their sense of smell. University of Kiel researchers found that peppermint blocked headache pain in a double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross-over study. Many have had great relief with peppermint when it comes to headaches and oftentimes the relief is very quick.
Here is what one person has experienced.
If I get heartburn, indigestion, queasiness, gas, or any other stomach/intestinal symptom, I take about 4 drops of peppermint oil in a small glass of water. No matter what the issue is, the peppermint makes it go away within minutes.
Peppermint is also anti-viral, and this past winter when lots of people around me had the stomach flu, I took peppermint every day and didn't get sick.
