In the midst of His pain, Jesus focused on others, rather than on Himself…

“Father, forgive these people, for they don’t know what they are doing.” ~ Luke 23:34

Two criminals were crucified with Christ; one of them recognized Who Jesus was and expressed faith in Him as Savior. Grace, through faith, was poured out, as Jesus assured forgiveness and eternal salvation…

“I assure you, today you will be with Me in paradise.” ~ Luke 23:43

The third phrase ~ John 19:26-27 ~ ... so, He said to His mother, “He is your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “She is your mother.”

In Mark 15:34, Jesus cries out to God: Then Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” ~ that is, “My God, My God, why have you deserted me?”

In the darkest hours of His suffering, Christ felt and expressed His separation from God.  Here, we see the Father turning away from the Son, as Jesus bore all the weight of our sins.

“I’m thirsty.” ~ John 19:28

Initially, Jesus refused to drink the vinegar, gall and myrrh, but eventually, He fulfilled the Prophecy as stated in Psalm 69:21...

Jesus' sixth Words spoken on the cross, as Jesus drank the wine and said, “It is finished!” ~ John 19:30

Jesus’ final act of obedience.. was completed…

Jesus spoke His seventh last Words ~ “Father, I commit My Spirit to You,” ~ Luke 23:46 ~ and with those words He died…

Let’s be forever grateful for what Christ has done for us...
