B.O.O.S.T. #1: Build A Relationship

One of the best ways to create a rabid list that eagerly opens

every email you send is by building a relationship with them.

How? By following these tips:

  • Choose a good “from” field. This might be your

full name or your company branding. Whatever it is, it

should be recognizable. You can’t build a relationship

with your readers if they don’t recognize your emails.

  • Gain trust. Treat your list as if you were writing to

your best friends. Share the best tips, tricks and

strategies with them. Recommend only the best

products and resources.

  • Send emails regularly. How do you build a

relationship with anyone, online or off? Answer: through

regular contact. This is why you need to make a point of

sending at least one email per week to your list.

  • Create continuity. The idea here is to make your

readers look forward to receiving your next email. One

good way to do this is to send a series of emails, such

as five tips for getting some benefit, where you send out

one tip every few days.

B.O.O.S.T. #2: Optimize Subject Lines

The subject line of your email makes a huge impact on

whether your subscribers will open your email.

Bad subject lines create deleted emails.

Average subject lines cause readers to set your email aside

to read later (which they may never get around to opening

it). Great subject lines get the click.

Here are tips for creating great subject lines:

  • Create short, engaging subject lines.

Depending on your subscriber’s email client, he may

only see as few as five short words in your subject line.

That’s why you need to create succinct, relevant

subject lines that get your subscribers’ attention.

For example: “Weird trick for fast fat loss (see inside)

…”

  • Write deadline-driven subject lines. Want

someone to open an email right now? Then give them a

good reason to, such as a fast-approaching deadline.

For example: “Last chance for 50% off (doors close

tonight)…”
