Do You Know Why and Where You Are Going?

When our goals or our path in life is not clearly defined and things seem to always not go smoothly, we ask ourselves, "Where did I go Wrong?"  Often one rudimentary missing element is our lives - taking the time to define our dreams or goals - creates this feeling of demise.

I am reminded of a fairytale that was written buy Lewis   Carroll. It is the story of Alice in Wonderland. At a point in the story, Alice came to a fork in the road. She was feeling somewhat undecided and preplexed about which direction to take. She wondered should she go right or should she go left.

In the center of the fork on the road stood an old very large tree. Alice looked up and saw there was company. It was a cat grinning down on her from where he was perched in the tree. Alice, undecided about which direction to take, ask the cat to tell her which direction she should take from there. The can told her that it depended a great deal on where she wanted to get to. Alice told the cat that it didn't matter much where so long as she got somewhere. The cat said that then it mattered not which way she walked. He also said that if she walked long enough, she would surely get somewhere. But where? Where is she going? What is her why for going? What are her goals?

This fairytale holds an important truth for all of us. If we don't know where we are going or what we want in our life and for our life, then any path we take will get us there. But, is that really the place we want to go?

I read some place that in the absence of clearly defined goals in internet marketing, multi-level marketing, off line home business or whatever path we have chosen, we push forward in life, sometimes aimless and misdirected, often working hard only to discover at the end of the day or year that we are both unsatisfied and unfulfilled.

I concluded that if we want to move forward in our life, we must know where we are going, why we are going and define our goal(s) to get us there.

To your success,

Kathleen Ayers
