Upon experiencing the various emotional changes that I was going through with menopause, it was an Emotional roller coaster. The experience involved so many aspects and they all tied in together.
I will point some of them out: irritability,feelings of sadness,lack of motivation, I might add that I consider myself to be highly motivated. Then there were more emotional rides, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, fatigue, mood changes and tension.
I had to figure out how to cope with the emotional changes that I was going through. So I thought a lot about what were the things that really made me feel good and got positive results from. I brought myself back to finding a self-calming skill to practice which was meditating and being in my house with no TV or radio on, then I would do some simple exercises just sitting in a chair for twenty minutes every day, reading, and working on my computer. Finally I had to engage myself in a creative outlet that fosters a sense of achievement. Sad to say unfortunately, it is a problem with concentration and minor memory problems can often be a normal part of menopause. There is medical knowledge that is limited as to why memory changes happen with menopause no matter what stage you are experiencing it. Now keep in mind that depression is not caused by menopause, some women do exhibit the symptoms at this time. However, if you are feeling increasingly unable to cope, see your doctor.
