Because I have experienced full blown menopause I have found that one of the main symptoms sleeping is a disturbance that I had with sleeping that was unbelievable! I experienced getting 10 hours a sleep a week. I would be so exhausted! Read my story here.
There are many conditions that can cause interrupted sleep with menopause. The symptoms can include (1) snoring, (2) sleep apnea, (3) restless legs syndrome.
Interrupted sleep with menopause from my experience came from the horrible night sweats that I would have at all times of the night and that would cause me to have to change night clothes, my sheets, pillow cases and attempt to get myself re-situated to get comfortable to get some kind of sleep. But the wrestling around was so draining. I wanted to think that I would be able to get myself back right to go to sleep but that wasn’t so.
If I had to narrow it down to what causes interrupted sleep, I would put it into two different categories. (1) Physical and (2) Psychological.
My final words to you with this are to address this issue with your medical professional about your sleeping symptom with menopause so that he/she can give you the best recommendation for this problem.
