TOP OF THE CLOCK (PART 2)
What the 'Top of the Clock' principle teaches us is that in life we travel full circle and end where we started. But although we return to the top of the clock are we the same being as started out from that same spot? Clearly not. It would be nice to think that we could go from one second past twelve to one second before twelve without the pain and waste of the journey, where we discover that we knew all along what the truly important values in life are but which we had been blind to or had chosen to ignore. But of course we can't. And anyway, the journey is necessary. Because, as well as the pain and waste, it is filled with excitement, discovery and happiness. It is a rich, enjoyable, rewarding experience. Especially if you make it so by tackling it head on with a positive and zestful attitude.
So at first glance, the newly born at one second past twelve and the aged traveller at one second before twelve look the same, occupy the same spot on the clock face and are, in fact, the same. But there is also a vast difference; and that difference is the journey. One has made it, the other has not!
Take my word for it. I'm not the kind of guy to mess about. Check me out by CLICKING ON the photo below.

And the 'Top of the Clock' principle is universal, it holds true in any area of life; apply it to any situation, to a venture, to a particular project, a job that you are doing or even a past-time, hobby or leisure pursuit. And 'measure' friends, colleagues and acquaintances with it, use it to assess what others you encounter are 'all about'. You should certainly recognise those who have made the journey from those who are just starting out and you will learn to identify falsehood (intentional or otherwise) and how other peoples' perceptions of themselves are appropriate or otherwise to their true place on the clockface.
Perhaps most significant in this context is to see whether people you meet have themselves an awareness of the 'Top of the Clock' principle. Those who have are likely to have not only experience of life but will have learned and grown from it. Those without this awareness will be very inexperienced or shallow or simply foolish.
Once you comprehend that it is an absolute law of existence, that the journey round the clock face must be made, then you will be better able to judge your own state of progress in any part of your life as well as in your life as a whole. Realise that the purpose and duty of your life is that of enjoying what you do, loving others and celebrating the joy of life. The ultimate success and source of infinite wealth is this realisation.
Where are you on the clock face now?
