"Everything Comes To He Who Waits”  is the 8th in my 2018 series of 'Winter Warmers' original copyright press releases sent from my happy home in the sunny south of Portugal

I noted the marque and model of the racing bicycle on which I had set my heart and which I hoped to purchase at a later date, left the bike shop and returned to my office. On arrival there a secretary asked me if a bicycle found earlier in the day parked at the rear entrance to the office was mine? Puzzled, I went to take a look. Sure enough a nearly new, top range racing bike was propped there against the wall. But inquiries throughout the office and neighbouring properties shed no light on who the owner might be so it was left where it was to be reclaimed but after two weeks it still stood there. The concensus of opinion was that the expensive piece of kit had been 'borrowed' from another side of town by someone returning home the worse for wear after a late night out and dumped at my gate.

So I deposited the bicycle with the local police lost property department who gave me a ticket with which to claim the bike as my own if, after six months, the owner had not showed up. I put the ticket on my desk, postponed my planned purchase of a new bicycle and waited. When six months had passed I returned to the lost property office and was surprised and delighted to find that no-one had come for the bicycle and it was now mine! So, at no cost, I now had my (nearly) new racing bicycle and a far more expensive model than the one I had been intending to purchase. It stayed with me much admired for over twenty years and the source of many free drinks on the back of the story of its origin which I've just recounted.

The morals of this tale are both profound and simple and particularly so in this era of instant gratification – When you fervently wish for something with all of your inner being, it will come to pass, and everything comes to he who waits.

I am Tom Riach. I live and write in the sunny south of Portugal.

It took me some years to establish myself in business but I believe that in life only the most resolute of tryers will prevail and after several years of a bank account in a permanent state of cardiac arrest my perseverance began to pay!

I became a successful Business Consultant, Investment Adviser and award-winning Salesperson and Marketing Professional and I coined the term 'Creative Solutions' to describe my work in devising and implementing innovative approaches to situations in business, commerce and industry (some call it trouble-shooting). From my successes I grew my own group of small companies.

Today I host my 'Wake Up Leisure and Learning Breaks', personal mentoring and business guidance, in the tranquility and calm of the sunny south of Portugal and I am the author of several best-selling books on the subject of successful living.

CONTACT ME - I'll be thrilled to hear from you!

The life of which you dream is HERE within your grasp!
