True Friend: A true, mature and genuine friendship is based on relationship, trust, and accountability. Friends are such amazing presents in our life. We may have many friends, or a few acquaintances, but they all have excellent value. Are you a companion to your friends? We all want to have real friends, but the quality of our friends rely on us. If you want to have real friends, you should be a real companion yourself. By being a real companion, individuals will really like to be around you and many of them will gradually become your real friends. These are a few thoughts on how to be a real friend: Befriend yourself – To understand to really like others, you must really like yourself first. If you never accept yourself, how can you accept others? Be a Excellent Audience - The art of hearing is one of the most challenging artistry to master. Sometimes we discuss with a companion but never properly pay attention to what he says. A real companion does not do that. A real companion is an excellent listener. Take effort to help - When you feel a need through suggestions or gestures, think about how you can help them and take the effort to help. Commend others - People need admiration. They need to know that you appreciate them. Be existing in hardships - This is test of real relationship. Bogus friends will be with you when you are happy and they want to share your pleasure. But fake friends will not be with you in hardships. Only real friends will select to be with you in hardships. I have been blessed in my life to have made true friends, many who are online and have not met them in person. I pray as I learn this art that I can be a true friend to them.

 | | Nice blog. True friends are great to have if you are lucky enough to have them!! |
| | | | | Great Blog Donna. One of my favorite sayings has always been: Good friends are like Family that you meet along the way. |
| | | | | My Mother has always been very big on differentiating between acquaintances, pals, and those few true real friends that will be there for you no matter what. My kids on the other hand think that everyone is their BFF. True friends are worth their weight in gold and blessings. |
| | | | | As you said you must love yourself first in order to be a friend to anyone else. This is where personal development comes in and help from God of course. Prayer in all things is the best action for us all. ~Terri Pattio - MLM Coach/Mentor with a servant's heart |
| | | | | Donna, having a true friend is indeed someone will be there when you need them no matter what. To have someone as your friend who trips out on you about every little thing is not a good thing. However, your line of communication between you and them must be constant to learn each other's personality. This will avoid a lot of unnecessary emotions. Thank you for sharing. |
| | | | | Hi Donna! This an excellent blog that really invites you to take the time to reflect on how true a friend you are being to yourself and others. Thank you for that and for sharing! |
| | | | | Hello Donna. Thanks For Your Post. "...Only real friends will select to be with you in hardships..." Couldn't be any truer. |
| | | | | Donna, True friends stay in touch with one another, too. It is too easy to drift apart
by neglecting to do it. Thank you for your insights. |
| | | | | Thanks for sharing your thoughts on friendship Donna, I like the way you differentiate between online and real friends. Words are only a small part of communication, therefore online friends can only communicate partially unlike "real" friends. TB&L my friend |
