"Get Out" is a phrase used to express disbelief, and it is a line in the script from the movie, Terminator.
In this case, I'm talking about the latter - get out!
Don't forget to take a break especially if you work from home.
Take a walk around the block.
Sit out on the porch/balcony.
Play with the dog.
Play with the cat.
Play with the kids.
Ride a bike.
Just go outside.
Sometimes we are under the impression that if we put in long hours and put our nose to the grindstone, we will produce great work. Studies have shown that the exact opposite happens, we become less productive.
Yesterday, I took a walk outside my building and had a opportunity to talk to some of my neighbors - a few of them thought I had left the country. That's how often I got out.
As marketers, business people, we have a lot of things on our minds - what are we going to market, how are we going to market, what should we have for lunch today,...so many things to think about.
Do yourself a favor, get away from the office for an hour or two.
You will be surprised how productive you are when you return.
GET OUT.

 | | You are so right! I've been working non-stop it seems and when I did finally go outside my neighbors were shocked! It's so funny. But you are right, I do need to get outside more often. All work and no social interaction makes for a very dull woman. |
