As part of the newest algorithm brands have gained value. They are being placed on first pages more than unbranded websites. They are also ranking above articles written which was the mainstay of many who earned on the internet.
This trend has made social networks more important to smaller businesses. Social networks can still place smaller websites both lesser brands and unbranded ones on page one in their niche. This takes hard work on the part of the site owner or author.
Those who understand are joining Google + knowing a large network with this program will help them rank. Google is using their social network to help determine who is going to reach page one. What does this mean for bloggers and website owners? It is time to get on board with Google +. This is because others sharing using it give more relevance to your blog or website than other social network sharing.
The way we see it branding is also more important. Brands are the ones getting preferential treatment from Google and from there, the other search engines. Those who have the most to spend are ranking better; yet there is still room for the little business if they figure out how to make the system work for them.
Keyword research is going to play a major role. Finding niches where there aren’t many branded websites give a better chance of reaching page one. The hard part is going to be finding searched terms with the least amount of websites to the niche as possible. Creating a brand in such a niche will more than likely put you on a page one in it.
Mass submissions to other search engines are not going to help. The best solution in that area is making sure you have videos on youtube. This is important because they are the second most used search engine. For the smallest of internet businesses there is still one website (program) out there which is free and will solve the search engine submission problem for you. The most important search engines are actually pinged when you post a blog on the website. This is not done by you, it is done for you.

 | | Thanks Terrie. It is getting harder to rank articles on Google. Other search engines still have other criteria so the ranking is better with them. It still either takes IBOtoolbox or one search engine at a time to rank well. |
