Branding with Video has become a great way to garner more interest. It is also a time saver if done properly. Any time you show your face in a video you are branding yourself. If you have a company logo consider setting one up in the background. If you don’t have a large enough logo a company letterhead will work. In the end any item with your logo on it will work in the video. This brands not only you; it brands your company also. If you are new to the video format, practice with your friends first. You want to feel comfortable in front of the camera before you go live especially with prospective clients. Be prepared to spend at least a few hours “getting comfortable” in front of the camera. For some a few hours won’t be enough. If you feel this is you set your video system up where you can view yourself and practice until you feel you are ready to share with friends. Take the time to be truly comfortable. Just like with any media it is not about you, if you don’t give value your wasting your time as well as the receivers. Have a general outline memorized. Know your main points and be sure to cover them. This is important because you only get one chance to make a first impression. Someone seeing you for the first time on camera is no different than meeting someone the first time face to face. What do you want them to remember? Pay attention to the background. Is there any item which will detract or draw attention away from you? You want to keep the focus on your face. Your words are the most important aspect of a business video. Business videos just like movies or television have a mood set by what the viewer sees. What do you want a viewer’s mood to be? Lighting is important, most people react poorly to “dark and dreary. This is especially important when you are asking them to join a program which if done correctly will change their lives in a positive manner. Be real, don’t show screen shots of money being earned. Those in the internet marketing field who use them generally overstate what they earn. If you can look someone in the eye and tell them you are earning; for the most part it is all they really want to hear. This is branding in its truest form. Video instead of a face to face meeting is the only difference. © June 7, 2012 7:20 PM CST Dennis Thorgesen for Lisech eMarketing, All rights reserved.
