Personal brand; Brand design

When you have a website and are creating a personal brand you have to consider your brand design. There are times you are going to create something under your domain which isn’t part of the website. If it is part of your domain it is part of your brand. Brand design Do you understand what brand design is? It is a marketable commodity. It should contain your brand image as well as identity. Visual identity is only a small part of the overall package. Written material should let the world know what your brand stands for. Visual identity Brand colors and fonts In the process of creating your brand, you should have chosen your brand colors and font. Black and white are pretty much a given. Most people choose only three more colors. At some point in time there will be paper products this is simpler and more cost effective with only a few colors. Why paper products? Do you have a business card? Shouldn't they be the same as your brand design? In reality they should be. People can become confused and not know if they are in the right place if moving from a business card to an online address. A visitor feels they are in the right place if the font, design, and colors match. If at any time your business is going to use fliers or other print media doesn't it make sense to have the brand design and colors ready? Social media If social media allows why would you use anything other than your brand colors and font if possible. If you are already known by your name and photo why shouldn’t they be part of your social media? Never ending story Brand design starts the never ending story which is your brand image. It starts by telling potential customers who you are what you stand for. The most important thing it does is give them the information they are looking for. “What is in it for me?” Image Why is image not as visual as brand identity? When most people think of an image they think of something like a picture they can see once and be done. The image of a brand is a combination of the written word, written copy with pictures, and video used by a brand. The importance of video and mobile At the moment the two fastest ways to be found are videos posted on You Tube and mobile SEO. To be part of the mobile search engine they have to be aware you are mobile ready. If you look at your site and have to scroll sideways it is not considered mobile ready.
