Building your brand; branding tips “I”

While attempting a search for brand and branding we came up with what most of the world believes a brand is. Paraphrased; it means "putting a hot iron on the rear quarter of cattle." In the internet world it means something totally different. They have been used effectively to promote businesses since the late 1400's. Now they are part of the internet and used as effectively as the first one created. Is it a secret? The world around us is filled with them now. Fast food seems to be the most prevalent. Everything from Airlines to the shoes you wear on your feet in most cases are branded products. We purchase them because of how they make us feel. Some are purchased because they cater to the most value for the money. Yet the majority of people you talk to still believe “the hot irons” are the only answer. Initiated by design The do not hide yet many people believe they don’t exist. This is part of the plan. The owners want you to think of them without realizing you are doing it. Some use every means possible including the children of those who have them. How many times have your children asked you for something they have seen on television? Identity Some companies put their identity in your face; others are more modest yet still grab your attention. Both want your attention; they just go about it in different ways. Each understands word of mouth is the best advertising there is. Those with more subdued brands depend on this usually because they have learned to be more effective using it. Image Image is your perception. How do you see the company? What do you see as the benefits of owning a product they created? Do they have a social cause which is something you strongly believe in? Importance For most people they are an important part of life. When two companies compete for your business sometimes the only point which sets one apart is some little thing which matters to you personally. What you have to consider is even the least expensive product sold by your local supermarket is branded. Those of course are meant to be the low price leaders. Inventiveness Without competition there would be few if any choices in areas of your life. This would make the world a dull and boring place. Although those in other countries have lived this, so far Americans have not. The major areas we have had shortages in are gasoline and other energy sources when we over use them or storms knock them out. I am apparently Linked in Most people know we give an associate some recognition. The letter I created a special challenge. This article by Bill Bateman seems to fill the bill. The press release this leads to should be found to have value to any business owner. Integrity With a choice we can choose to buy from companies with higher integrity. This is something many companies strive to give us and with good reason. There are companies who really care for the environment, better education for our children, and a world our children will be proud to be part of. Independent business owners If you are in the process of self-branding there is a great group of tools which have enhanced our business since April 15, 2011. Although we have looked we have found no place better for others to learn about what we do. Everything has been furnished without charge. This hasn’t changed since we signed up. The only thing you can pay for is advertising. You are not treated any different if you don’t purchase it.
