If corporations can use gratitude as a repeat sales tool why can't you? All brand owners know it takes less effort and expense make another sale to satisfied customers than it does to find a new one. So why aren't you using every tool at your disposal to do just that?

 

Why is saying thank you so hard?

 

In my house the words; Thank you, are probably the second most used group of words in the house. Everyone here takes part of the daily workload. Yes, keeping a clean house is work. This is especially true when there are 3 children under 10 years old living in it. We are all grateful, because every part of the load done by others gives us time for the things we do want to do.

What value does saying thank you bring

Can thank you be overused?

 

We are in a unique situation. Thank You can be overused and start to mean nothing. Due to this our system is to use a different language at times. The children as well as the adults understand and speak Thank You in four languages. Yes, even the two year old. The down side for me is sometimes I slip and use thank you in a different language than I should in emails.

 

So how can this work for your company?

 

Thanking someone for a purchase or for joining you gives you another reason to contact them. Thanking people who help you most likely will give them a reason (your good manners and gratitude) to continue helping you.

In person

 

When saying Thank You in person do it with a smile on your face. This way you have given two gifts. In truth there are two people who should be happy. The customer for having their need filled, and you for the customer filling the need of why you started your business.

 

Happiness

 

Guess what? People who are grateful generally live longer and happier lives than those who are not. This means every time you show others you are grateful two people get a little added time to their lives.

  • Add to your thank you with information of value to the buyer

  • Write thank you notes

  • Send an additional email simply thanking the buyer

 

Other ideas

 

  • If you have a product that expands the value of the one a buyer now owns let them know in the thank you note.

 

  • If your product has to be put together expand on ways to simplify the process for the buyer.

 

  • Offer tips or tricks for use which apply to the purchased product.
