Five tips for using IBOtoolbox more effectively

1. Put a picture of you the person on your profile.

(I had a picture of me up for over a year before I went to the logo) People who met me when the picture was up are still friends, even if they are no longer in business. The logo was put up because more than one person used my IBO profile. It was used for the company, not personal. Now it has become personal again and I am working on incorporating the logo with a picture of me the person.


2. Put something on your profile.

For the first year I used a quote, nothing else. It was better than leaving it blank. Please understand people outside IBOtoolbox are most likely going to see your profile before they see your content. This makes it an important online business card for you.

3. Write an introduction press release.

Ninety percent about who you are and why you do what you do. No more than 10 percent about your product. There are some who don't mention their product at all. If you are a product of your product it is recommended that this is shared in your introduction press release.

(People do business with people they know, like, and trust)
I recommend no links in the press release. Just the one required to publish. Absolutely no more than one link for every 400 words if you have them in content. Keep links at the bottom as the person has enough time to see if they have an interest in following the link to your business, or social media.

. Interact with other people on the platform.
(It takes 9 other members sharing your work to be most effective) What I have found is that it is best to have more than 9 so the search engines don't see a pattern in sharing. Comments which have value and somehow relate to the content are always best. IBOsocial comments link to your profile, so if you create enough interest people can follow the link to your profile.

People creating personal brands

. If you can find time read any of the press releases I have published here. Laurie Kay's press release as well. (It will help you understand your true value is you, not your product) What I have found is products come and go. Sometimes not how we expect. You are still going to need to make your living, so it is better that you build a personal relationship with the people you meet.


Most important I believe is be who you are. People will like you or they won't. In the end you will find those who like you will help you with your business. Those who don't really can't cause damage because IBO doesn't allow negativity. If you find no one likes you, change. Make sure the change is permanent.
