Where does the life you dream of fit?

 

Almost everyone dreams of a life different than what they are living. To live the dream many start businesses. Some create personal brands where others create a business brand.

 

A dream is a life plan

 

Your dream, where you want to be in life is your life plan. It is an important part of why you are in business. In every case this plan should be written down and kept close enough to the work area where it can be seen several times a day. If possible pictures that show parts of it should be with it as well. This is what will keep you motivated to reach your dreams.

Business plan

 

If you choose running a business to gain what you want to live your life dream, you need a business plan as well. The two are not related. A business plan is what you are going to do to make your business earn what you need to live your life plan.

 

Important parts of a business plan

 

Everyone has a set of ethics. These need to be part of your business plan even if you are a one person business. For companies with employees they are more important. Although every employee is a brand unto themselves you want to be assured that they live up to your ethical standards and that the customers see your ethics in your employees.

 

The idea is to have your brand as well as the self brand of the employee show through in everything they do.

 

Where it applies a safety plan

 

Safety plans cover being legal so you don't have to hire lawyers, to fix your mistakes. For businesses with a physical store front it covers keeping employees and people who would be customers safe as well. If you have a service business it is also keeping your employees and customers safe.

Marketing plan

 

Every business has to market their product or service. In every case there needs to be a written marketing plan. This is the plan that takes the most time. First you have to figure out who is going to buy your product or service. Then you have to figure out what the best keywords are to put you in front of that audience. Once you have done that you have to figure out what information they are going to find of value to them.

 

Funnel plan

 

The basics of a funnel are as follows. Someone sees something they like about you, your company, or your product. They want to know more. The function of the funnel is to be there in some way so they can know more. Most companies use an auto response system. To get interested people to opt in, most use something of value to the people searching the chosen keywords in exchange for their email address. Auto response systems in reality are no longer required if you know what you are doing. You just need a way to guide someone interested in your product or service along the journey to becoming a buyer.

 

Marketing timing

 

When you have the steps above written down, then you have to decide what social media you are going to use to keep in touch with the audience you have found. Timing plays an important part with social media. You want to be in front of your audience when they are online.

As you can see the marketing plan takes up much more than every other plan. It is more time consuming, and needs to monitored so you can know what is working and what needs improved or changed.

 

Advertising plan

 

Advertising covers two areas. You want people to know your brand. This covers what you stand for and gives people a reason to want to do business with you. It also covers product or service advertising. Your brand colors and fonts need to be part of your product or service advertising.

 

It is also important to look at forms of marketing/advertising which are time tested.
