Advertising your brand, three functional ideas to help

Everyone has a different idea on how to advertise their brand, product or service, and this is fine. Not everyone is comfortable using all the methods possible. Many of the ideas for my press releases come from helping others. This is one of those. It speaks to product or service ads placed on free or low cost ad services.


This is my thank you press release for being Featured member of the day for the 21st time since April 2011.

  1. Are you split testing your ads?


This is the #1 thing you should be doing. One ad is always going to work better than another, and you want the most productive working for you consistently. The idea with split testing is taking the most productive ad then tweaking it even more.


  1. If an advertising program isn't delivering...

Approach it from a different direction. If it still doesn't work stop using it. Many times a simple change, will change something from non producing to producing. Be inventive, a small change might make all the difference.


  1. Are you list building?


List building doesn't necessarily mean using an auto response system. What it does mean, is having another way to reach those who show an interest in you, your product, or your service. There are quite a few people I have met who invite people to their social media as a way to reach them again.




It is important to remember it is going to take someone between 7 and 10 exposures (even for those with an interest) to become a customer.


With Advertising you have to be consistent. Although I did well running my ad for 20 days at a time, then shutting it down for 10 or 11 days, this is not recommended. It brought all the traffic I needed (and more than I could physically handle) for my offline business. Chances are though I would have done much better if I had kept the ad running all the time.


Does it deliver

In the end what is most important with advertising is does it deliver? If it is not delivering, change the ads. Think, what is going to get those who see the ad excited about my product? Remember advertising is not about YOU. It is about the needs of the customer. So what does your ideal customer need or want? If you don't know ASK. You can actually use an ad to do it if you choose.
