Complaining versus Criticism

There is a moving force called complaining that is confused with constructive criticism.  When many people complain, they say that is because they are trying to be helpful; they call it criticism.  However, there is a constructive and a destructive criticism.  The constructive criticism always has an solution and desires for change or progress toward the better.  Destructive criticism is designed to stop, impede and slow down progress.  It never has an solution and wants things to stay the same.

Moreover, in the business world, an employee might criticize but never offer an solution for change and progress.  He might have a legitimate point and could be very vocal and articulate in expressing his point, even to the point of affecting the rest of the employees.  The danger of this is he does not want change; his goal is to make the leadership look bad and thus have them removed so that he can keep things the same.  Many people have been lynched and executed, without cause because of these complainers, in the name of criticism.  They have the ability to stir up crowds and rustle up people, in anger and without thinking to accomplish their cause.  With their oratorical ability, they can complain, sit back and watch others do their bidding, so that these will remain the same.

Therefore, it is important when we criticize, to have a solution that will make things better and not be afraid of change, particularly positive change that will help everyone.  If we really want to help people and make things better in our business and the economy and community, our criticism will have viable solutions; solutions that will work; solutions that are free from bias.  These solutions will bring peace and unity, not division and destruction. Remember, complaining is designed to slow down, impede and stop workable solutions, so that things will stay the same, even if it mean getting rid of the leadership that foster them!!
