Do not put all your eggs in one basket

This is a piece of advice which means that one should not concentrate all efforts and resources in one area as one could lose everything.

A memorial of my dad’s philosophy.

My dad used to tell me not to put all my eggs in one basket. When I asked why, he responded simply with: “Both the eggs and the basket are fragile. If you have one job (egg) in your basket and lose either the basket or the job, you lose everything.” My dad had some sayings. This by far was the best that he shared with his children.  He died in 1998. May he rest in peace.

Today, is Friday, May 26, 2017. The day in the month of May my father enjoyed of all the time of the year because it is the start of Memorial Day Weekend. I remember helping him get everything ready for the heavy customer traffic he expected to come to his famous Bar & Grill the Pull-it Inn. My dad loved his bar. It was located on 2nd and Peabody in East Dallas back in the 60’s. The Pull-it Inn was known for the best Pit-Bar-be-Que is Dallas. And the side orders? Man; talking ‘bout some kind of good. What he did not sell on Friday and Saturday night, he’d bring home. Except this holiday weekend, he made sure all of the family and friends would participate in activities and fun at the bar and then head out to the Texas State Fair Grounds where the best ‘cotton candy’ was made.

My dad owned a construction company where he was the first General Contractor is Dallas. My dad owned this bar. My dad helped people repair their homes. My dad was a spiritual man. He loved to teach others. Before there was a “World Wide Web”, my dad had a “Way With Words.”

I want to share with you what I learned over the years from my dad about why it is so very important not to put all your eggs in one basket.

My grandparents worked for older government agencies, in the homes of rich people, in travel, medical, or in food service. They retired and lived off the money they saved.  My parents were entrepreneurs. They were taught by their parents not to put all your eggs in one basket and not to take any wooden nickels.

When I look over my lifetime, we were taught to do one of two things; 1) get a good education and go to work in a high paying career and 2) if you didn’t get that education, learn a skill and earn a good income. Either way, society taught us to invest our earnings in profit-sharing, stocks, and/or property.

Soon, I’ll be 60 years old. So far, I’ve lived through three recessions and a failed civil rights movement. I lost my investment and career on September 11, 2001 (a.k.a. 911).  Had I not remembered and followed the words of my dad/my father, you would not be reading this blog.

Very few people are born into billions. Most are not celebrities living off the wealth of others. I am doing my best to make sure that my children and grandchildren will not be forced into government dependency.

Research shows that 5000 – 10,000 people apply online for each job posting. The chances of our children landing one of those high paying careers is slim to none.

This why it is imperative that we learn the importance of ‘network marketing’ and why we must never put all our eggs in one basket and teach our children to live by the same rule.

Now that you know my reasons why, allow me to introduce you to some of the eggs I have in my basket. I have vetted them closely. Please feel free to check each one and practice my rule. Let’s do business with each other.

  1. First up is my new little Royaltie GEM. Just like Morse-Code gave way to the creation of HTML, Beacon Signaling have birthed “Proximity Marketing”.  Royaltie’s Proximity Marketing is the localized wireless distribution of advertising content transmitted on 1000s of Smart Android devices via push notification within 100mm/109yards of your Royaltie GEM. Free shipping in US and Canada.  There are  four pricing plans; 1-GEM $25 a month, 3-GEMS $45 a month, 8-GEMs $99 a month and an Affiliate Marketing Program with one of the most lucrative compensation plans I’ve seen for there to be no cost to sign up as an Affiliate. As an Affiliate, when you signup three, you no longer have monthly payments. My suggestion? Since its free, you may as well sign up as an Affiliate.
  1. My new prepaid Mastercard. The Elite no fee Ultra Rewards ZBlackcard. No fees mean no fees for checks, Post Office Money Orders, ATMs or Teller withdrawals. No fees to load or transfer, to check balance, to swipe at point of sales, and/or to use monthly. Free checks, ACH Deposits, payroll deposits, bill payments, and service calls. Great Elite Rewards and amazing cash rewards. Business building loans for establishing credit.  There are four types of ZBlackcards: Customer Plan $69.95 a year, Starter Plan $99.95 a Year, Basic Plan $149.95 a year, Premiere Plan $239.95 a year, and an Elite Plan at $999.95 a year. When you study the strategic goals associated with each upgradeable plan, you will be amazed at how easy it is to reach the Elite Plan and enjoy the wonderful rewards that comes with it.
  1. vCard Global is how I present my Mobile Business Card. A marvelous B2B tool that not only saves paper, but integrates Microsoft 360 features and Internet Protocols to allow users in 22 countries uniquely design and share an interchangeable digital business card. There are four kinds of vCard Global cards; 30-day Free Trial User, Single User $59 a year, Pro User $99 a year, and an Affiliate/Marketing User $129 a year. 1. For advocacy, allow me to introduce you to Fraud Stoppers. Depending on your issue, if you live in America and are facing foreclosure on your home, contact this team of professional advocates.
  1. For sharing and networking your business or businesses, I recommend IBOSocial and Alignable. IBOSocial is global B2B site that allows small home-base entrepreneurs like you and me to utilize business marketing features to write and publish press releases like this one to promote your offerings. A site manager will assist you in designing banners for your web pages, train you on the use of the many B2B marketing tools and offers a credit point system that you can earn or purchase to generate Internet Traffic to your site. The membership is free. Using the features is free.    Alignable is an American based B2B networking site that allows small business owners with online marketing businesses to each other with a twist…the site connects us with small business owners that are local to our home base. I invite you to join both sites because they each provide something different that is done correctly, will expose your businesses to business owners that are within 5 miles of your business address or global business owners that stretch around the globe.
  1. For personal research, cultural awareness, social change, and empowerment, I manage my own blog site, where I give my opinion on hot-topic matters that affects us all. Check out my blog site at ‘What the F Happened’.
  1. For fun, personal relaxation, and what turned out to be one hell-of-a education, I have adopted a pair of mated Bald Eagles. Mr. President (the male/father eagle) and The First Lady (the female/mother eagle) are currently raising their fifth baby eaglet. I started blogging about My Pet Eagles, their love for one another and the manner by which they birth, nurture, and raise their offspring is something that we humans could learn a lot from. Feel free to see how I bring to life the real world of the American Bald Eagle.
  1. Got another minute? Please take my survey.

In the closing, I want to thank my dad for his leadership, professionalism, and most of all, for the love he showed God, country, and his family. If we learned to do business with each other, we will never be hungry and our needs will be met. If we do the ‘will’ that God has for our life, we will not want. Remember those that fought and died for us to live free.

Thank you, I look forward to hearing from you soon. God Bless

Zalee Harris
